To ensure dependability as a DD, I would recommend the following changes/ repairs: - Powerflex FCABS. -Aluminum water pump pulley.
Jul 17, 2021 · For the e46 M3, very high mileage to me is pushing 300k miles. I haven’t seen too many with that kind of mileage. I own an e46 ZHP Vert & M3 at this point I’m pretty committed to the E46. As a first car going for a high mileage M3 you should devote atleast 2/3 of what you spent on the car immediately on maintenance.My current 2002 330i Sport is my 4th BMW and 34th car overall so I have some experience. This model of BMW - the E46 - is just plain solid. Yes, there are known issues such as window regulators
Sep 6, 2023 · The BMW E46 has a lot of parts that tend to degrade and break over time. For those older E46's (practically all of them at the time of this writing) will have some common problems on a majority of all E46's. Some examples of this include a cracked windshield cowl, pixelated and/or volume button breaking on the stock radio, faded emblems, and the one that we will be addressing in this post
Most E46 models are good for drifting, 330’s tend to loosen the nut on the oil pump and are more expensive than $2k. Check for subframe cracks when buying a car and reinforce it once you get the car. After that, coilovers, welded diff, bucket seat, in-line hydro. I recommend a stronger clutch setup as well.
